Submerge

Memory fades in the waters of
Kanyakumari. Remember? when
we met following the north star we
reached the southern tip. Perched
precariously like the sun balancing
on the horizon
 Slowly,
             Slowly,
                            Slowly…..
we caught the thermals of the
Windmills they say, ‘take you
places you want to be’. Floating
 onwards like a dream.

Nothing
stays the same in these whirls
of the sea. Our only hope is
our skin, every pore the color
of dusk, gleaming effervescence
with every breath, as the supple
waters soothe our souls and winter
flakes the greenest trees.

Freefalling...

The words you speak
Are soft, porous, unending
Like the disheveled clouds
Spread across our
incoherent existence. We

are trapped in a maze
Amaze our minds. With
a daily drub of inconsequentials
We’ve become a habit. Now

you stomp your foot
And I tap my heart. Feel
the rhythmic vibrations. Listen
to the music that we make.

We traverse the world. Drift
back to the same place. Trace
our hearts with charcoal. As we
burn and lift up like ambers
of dead winter wood. I

melt like the receding
Glaciers in your eyes. And
you like the virgin
Rainforests of yore
Forever green, grow.

Sure there is madness
In this not knowing,
In this free falling,
In this letting go.

Fated

it's creepy

how sometimes
thoughts
  leak out
      from
           the mind and fall on
   blank sheets of paper, how
words converge in
                unanimous symmetry. How

                          they wander, float, rest
silently. Till We dont
     even grasp
        the enormity of

vowels rounded and
moments profounded.

Homes

What happens to them?

The cozy places that

We inhabit

Come back to

Every evening for

All of our lives

What happens?

To homes

When they are left

On their own

Long after we cease

To exist.

Do the walls turn?

An eerie shade of grey

Do they crack and crumble

In the heat

Of May

And what happens

To all our belongings

Who tends to them?

And the beds

We dreamed on

Made love

And hate, procreated

The future

Who sleeps on them?

Does the clock still

Tick the time away
(tic-tock-tic-tock-tic….)

Stand still

When the batteries run out.

And what about

The gods we bought

Little temples

We made

All the prayers together

What’s their fate?

Walnut Dream

She seeps in
Like a walnut dream
She rests herself
In my heart
Well she doesn’t know what she does to me
She’s got magic eyes

In the night
beneath the starlit sky
In light of crescent moon
her face it glows
like a magic wand
She’s like rain in month of june

and she never comes
(makes me wait)
and she never goes
(forever stays)
like a languid stream her laughter flows
and my heart’s besieged by her wonder
what to do…………

well she told me that
she’s a part of me
and we are a part of
something new
and our love, it will forever stay
as fresh as the morning dew.

Upper Crust

Cloaked in sheets of linen
Lingering feel of perfume splash
Chains of gold, to free the spirit
Real self is meant to stash

Wine and caviar rules the roost
An enviable mode of existence
Walls adorn avant-garde art
Everything so chic and suave
Known not for what you are
Held in stead for what you have

Caroline Herrera, Manolo Blahnik,
Gucci and Versace too
All these names are endemic
To lives rich and famous few

Pleasantries exchanged
Same old blabber,
Same old people
Just the smiles are new
Beautiful! Yes they are
With a dash of Botox too.

Moody Rains...

So what kind of rains do you like?
Even the rains have moods, you see.
The gusty windy roaring rain
Which drenches us from all sides, you see
The gently trickling drizzly rain
Which takes a bit, sometime to feel
The early morning misty rain
When everything looks like a dream
Or the late at nights the haunting rain,
Which makes the hair stand on your skin
Are these the kind of rains you like, eh?
Or the first of season virgin rain
Like it touch’s the skin like a first kiss
Tell me now
And I’ll pray for those rains.
Then we shall watch
I from here
And you from there.
